Committee Hearings Highlight Agency Issues

New Budget and Planning Cycle Underway
The state of Texas operates on a biennial budget cycle. Agencies are currently developing their strategic plans and will be submitting their budget requests in late summer. Sunset Commission Reviews Key Agencies
The Sunset Commission exists to evaluate whether to continue, eliminate, or modify agency operations. Key agencies currently under review include the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Public Safety, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and Lower Colorado River Authority. Resulting recommendations will be addressed during the upcoming 86th Legislative Session.
